My father liked nature of my homeland and frequently went to the coppice in the hills called Sayama Hills that was spread at the west area of Tokyo. The Hills are also called the Green Island in Tokyo.
He liked the gardening of natural tiny trees in the garden and the trees were gradually grown up the fine Bonsai. He made various Bonsai in the garden. The main are Japanese azaleas that bloomed splendid flowers in May. The month was really the flower kingdom of the azalea. He also liked the Bonsai of zelkova, that were I liked the most and probably father's talent to Bonsai was appealed in finest style, I feel still now.
Please refer to Azalea Bonsai.
